POSITION DESCRIPTION

 

 

POSITION TITLE:    Administrative Assistant, 12-month, Paraeducator, 9-month, Custodian, 12-month.

 

FLSA:                       Non-Exempt

 

REPORTS TO:         Supervisor

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Twelve month and 9-month employment with benefits as specified in Board of Education Policy.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

 

Administrative Assistant

  1. Answer phone, receive messages and respond to inquiries by staff, parents, or patrons of the district.
  2. File and sort paperwork.
  3. Input data for recordkeeping in multiple software systems.
  4. Type and/or draft letters of correspondence.
  5. Process invoices, track expenses, and produce expense reports.
  6. Type or prepare reports, compile data, and distribute information to parties both inside and outside of the district.

Paraeducator

  1. Provide assistance to students with special needs, non-English-speaking students, students with physical and mental disabilities, or other students as assigned.
  2. Tutor and assist children individually or in small groups to help them master assignments and to reinforce learning concepts presented by teachers.
  3. Supervise students in classrooms, halls, cafeterias, school yards, and gymnasiums, or on field trips.
  4. Present subject matter to students under the direction and guidance of teachers, using lectures, discussions, or supervised role-playing methods.
  5. Assist in bus loading and unloading.
  6. Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal or Principal’s designee.

Custodian

  1. Monitor building security and safety by performing such tasks as locking doors after operating hours and checking electrical appliance use to ensure that hazards are not created.
  2. Service, clean, and supply restrooms.
  3. Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing or vacuuming them.
  4. Requisition supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties.
  5. Set up, arrange, and remove decorations, tables, chairs, ladders, and scaffolding to prepare facilities for events such as banquets, meetings, assemblies, athletic events, and plays.
  6. Remove snow from sidewalks, driveways, and parking areas, using snowplows, snow blowers, and snow shovels, and spread snow melting chemicals.
