Qualifications:

           

  1. Minimum of 18 years of age
  2. Pass a drug test
  3. Pass a criminal background check through the Nebraska State Patrol
  4. Driving record checked by the Nebraska State Patrol proving a good driving record
  5. Pass a physical examination by a licensed physician pursuant to the department of motor vehicles, regulation 247 NAC 7-003-.02C
  6. Fulfill a ten-hour level I instructional program designed by the Nebraska Department of Education
  7. Two hour behind the wheel orientation given by the transportation supervisor
  8. Pass a commercial driver’s license examiner of the department of motor vehicles
  9. Pass a driving skills test
  10. Skilled in working with children
  11. Good judgment and common sense

            Transportation Supervisor

 

 

General:

 

            Transport students to and from school and to and from activities

 

Duties:

 

  1. Pre-trip and post-trip inspections, including all related paperwork

 

  1. Maintain a time sheet

 

  1. Fuel bus and log the mileage and amount of fuel used

 

  1. Perform two supervised evacuation drills per school year

 

  1. Sweep out bus every time bus is fueled up (or) on every Tuesday or Friday

 

  1. Clean windows on the inside on the bus at least three times a month

 

  1. Mop out as needed

 

  1. Attend all driver’s meetings

 

  1. Operate the school vehicle in a safe and legal manner at all times

 

  1. Take care of discipline of students

 

  1. Communicate to the transportation supervisor problems with vehicle operation, patron complaints, and student discipline problems

 

  1. Maintain a professional and cooperative working relationship with all personnel, students, and patrons

 

  1. Take random drug and alcohol testing as directed

 

  1. Other duties as assigned
