Qualifications:
- Minimum of 18 years of age
- Pass a drug test
- Pass a criminal background check through the Nebraska State Patrol
- Driving record checked by the Nebraska State Patrol proving a good driving record
- Pass a physical examination by a licensed physician pursuant to the department of motor vehicles, regulation 247 NAC 7-003-.02C
- Fulfill a ten-hour level I instructional program designed by the Nebraska Department of Education
- Two hour behind the wheel orientation given by the transportation supervisor
- Pass a commercial driver’s license examiner of the department of motor vehicles
- Pass a driving skills test
- Skilled in working with children
- Good judgment and common sense
Reports to:
Transportation Supervisor
General:
Transport students to and from Nebraska City
Duties:
- Pre-trip and post-trip inspections, including all related paperwork
2. Maintain a time sheet
- Fuel van and log the mileage and amount of fuel used
4. Perform two supervised evacuation drills per school year
- Maintain the Cleanliness of the Van
6. Attend all driver’s meetings
7. Operate the school vehicle in a safe and legal manner at all times
8. Communicate to the transportation supervisor problems with vehicle operation, patron complaints, and student discipline problems
9. Maintain a professional and cooperative working relationship with all personnel, students, and patrons
10. Take random drug and alcohol testing as directed
11. Other duties as assigned |
